20/20 Will Perform at ICS Cultural Week

20/20 rocked the stage at Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH)—and they were just rehearsing for the campus' ICS Cultural Week tomorrow on September 21.

"Got you shackled in my embrace, I'm latching onto you..." When you hear an unfamiliar band perform a cover of your favorite song, you either hate it or love it. In this case, one verse was all it took for me to become a fan of the bespectacled foursome (hence the ironic band name, 20/20 meaning perfect optical vision), who also happen to be sophomores from the Faculty of Music in UPH.

With shaggy-haired front man Daniel Rimaldi belting out tunes you can never dream of hitting, it is no surprise that he matched up Sam Smith's voice range as he sang "Latch" by Disclosure accompanied by the other two guys who look very much alike: Christian Winarto on bass and Erick Christian on drums, along with the petite girl Alice Grace on keyboard and synthesizers.

Alice admitted that she could barely contain her excitement to perform at the ICS Cultural Week since it is a prestigious event, held annually by the campus' International Community for Students to acknowledge accomplishments by the students and teachers. Event coordinator Kevin Reinaldo did not regret his decision in bringing in 20/20. "So far, they've been a great sport. And they are actually quite good!" Sound technician Christian Edo also agreed: "The band's overall concept is pretty awesome."

20/20 will be opening ICS Cultural Week with their own version of American Authors' "Best Day of My Life" at 6 p.m. on the fourth floor of HOPE Building at Universitas Pelita Harapan.
